Al-Nahda Trust — How we accept, use and report donor contributions
Effective Date: 27-10-2025. We value donor trust and follow clear principles for accepting and using donations. This policy explains how donations are processed, allocated, acknowledged and reported.
Donations to Al-Nahda Trust are used to support our charitable programs, including relief work, education, health camps, masjid & madarsa construction, and community development projects.
Where donors specify a particular program or project, we will make reasonable efforts to honor those wishes. If a designated project is fully funded or cannot be implemented, we will use the donation for a closely related purpose and inform the donor.
We accept one-time donations, recurring donations (monthly/quarterly), in-kind contributions (clothes, blankets, food, books), and corporate sponsorships in accordance with our acceptance guidelines.
Large gifts or in-kind donations may be subject to additional verification and acceptance procedures.
Donations made through our website are processed by secure third-party payment gateways. We do not store full card details on our servers. Please ensure you use secure and official donation pages to avoid fraud.
For offline donations (bank transfer, cheque, cash), please obtain an official receipt from our office and share transaction details for proper acknowledgement.
All donations receive an acknowledgement email and a digital receipt for your records. For donations above a specified threshold (or on request), we provide a formal donation certificate.
Tax receipts (where applicable) will be issued per existing laws and only after donation confirmation and verification of donor details.
Earmarked donations (designated for a specific project) will be used for the stated purpose whenever feasible. If a designated program cannot proceed, donors will be contacted to decide on alternative use or refund where appropriate.
We maintain separate accounting records for restricted funds to ensure transparency and correct utilization.
Donor funds are utilized according to the Trust's mission and approved programs. We publish summary financials, program reports, and annual statements to maintain transparency with donors and stakeholders.
Detailed audit reports may be provided to major donors or regulatory bodies when required.
Donations are usually non-refundable. Refunds are considered only in limited cases such as duplicate payments, technical errors, or demonstrable mistakes — in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
For recurring donations, donors can cancel future payments at any time; past processed donations will be handled per our refund rules.
We treat donor information with confidentiality and follow the practices described in our Privacy Policy and alternate Privacy Policy.
Donor contact details are used for acknowledgements, program updates and required regulatory reporting only, unless the donor opts-in for marketing communications.
With donor permission, we may acknowledge contributions on our website, social media, or publications. Donors may request anonymity by informing our team at the time of donation.
Al-Nahda Trust reserves the right to refuse or return donations that conflict with our mission, come from questionable sources, or impose undue restrictions inconsistent with our objectives.
We commit to regular reporting on program outcomes and financial use of donated funds. Annual summaries and project reports are made available to the public and donors as part of our accountability efforts.
